Let’s start with an apology
to all those who were affected by the missing numbers. Sorry!!
It was all going too well: I
collected the kit from Lew at 10am. The
sun was shining and I managed to get all the controls out in 3 hours. I then headed home. It wasn’t ‘till 4pm that I thought BUGGER –
the numbers!! Then, due to baby sitters availability I wasn’t able to get back
to Smallhanger until 5.15. I managed to
get about half of the numbers out by bike but ran out of light and we needed to
get starts underway.
Smallhanger has always been
difficult in broad daylight let alone at night. I considered avoiding Wheal Florence but it seemed a shame to
waste such a wonderfully technical area.
Congratulations to Andrew Ranson (only 13 years old) for flying around
the Orange with no problems, to Phil Way on the Green (for ensuring that the
winner of the Green League will be decided on the final event of the season)
and to Arthur Boyt on the Jade for his innovative route choice (enough said –
ask Arthur).
Thank you’s go to Chris
Ranson and Donna for running Registration, Sales, Starts and Finishes. A massive thank you to Phil and Alex Way for
helping to collect the controls in and to all of you for braving the cold
weather and entering into the spirit of night orienteering.
